I remember George's Diner when I was a little boy back in 1957, it was called HiHo Dairy O.
The name has changed, but the food, service and how clean this place is has not!!
You have to eat the Coney Dogs, Cheese a Balls, pork Tenderloin, it is the BEST!!! Wash it down with a Great Malt!!! Don't get any better than this!!! -

Added this place on my bookmark a while back and today I finally got a chance to try this place out in midst of thunder and lighting. Hey! You gotta do what you gotta do.
I was greeted with smiles and happy people. Great start. Menu looked a bit overwhelming so I asked their recommendation. Pizza burger they said. What on the world?? Yes, pizza burger with no marinara sauce. Pretty much a burger patty tossed in pizza flavored batter and deep fried. Wrong day to be on a diet folks. And I just had to try their shakes cause water is just a bit overrated. Was recommended the fudge marshmallow shake and boy was it good. I had the small and now wished I went for the large. Go big or go home, right? -

Now it has changed to Steburgers. Same great taste different name. Boy is it expensive! I forgot and let my kids get ice cream and a drink. Ouch! Love the burgers. I had double burgers. Fries are good, they are shoe string but they need more salt. All the different ice cream combos you could ask for. Just bring plenty of money!! People are nice but I wish I lived closer to visit more often.

We were passing through town and looking for a real "local" restaurant -- and they were hard to find!! Lots of chain places. But deep in the heart of Fort Dodge is a real gem: George's Diner!
George, himself, greeted us when we entered. The restaurant is small, but very neat and clean. The kitchen? Spotless! On his recommendation, we tried the cheese coneys with everything - best decision of the day! They are not topped with chili, a special recipe of spiced hamburger meat. Absolutely delicious!
When I asked about it, George told me it is a recipe from a local restaurant that closed in the 50s, Amos & Andy's. He says he still buys the spiced directly from the family who owned the original restaurant.
NOTE: they do not have hot sauce! George says he only gets a request for it about once a year. -

Came in for a slushy and food, it was awful. I've heard nothing but great things about this place, then I went and was not impressed. Restaurant and staff were dirty and the food was bad I didn't eat it.
